With the DeltaMate GPU Block Astral - ROG 5080, Thermal Grizzly introduces a GPU water block with a viewing window made of Schott BOROFLOAT® glass. Borosilicate glass refracts the light of the integrated RGB lighting differently than acrylic glass, making the new GPU block a visual highlight. In addition, the glass is less susceptible to alcohol-based cleaners.
The design of the DeltaMate GPU Block Astral - ROG 5080 water block is otherwise identical to other water blocks in the DeltaMate series and therefore shares their features:

- Full-metal construction with RGB-illuminated viewing window
- Targeted cooling of all VRAM and VRM components

DeltaMate GPU Block - ROG Astral 5080
The cooling performance of the DeltaMate GPU Block - ROG Astral RTX 5080 is based primarily on the optimized flow design of the coolant across the copper cooler. The cooler consists of two components screwed together: the smaller Core-Coldplate for the graphics chip and the VRM/VRAM-Coldplate for video memory and voltage converters. Together with the aluminum housing and the viewing window, they form the complete water block.
The VRM/VRAM-Coldplate, weighing over 900 grams, is milled from high-quality copper and then precision-blasted to achieve a uniform surface structure. The contact surfaces for VRAM and VRM are finely reworked after blasting in an additional CNC machining step to ensure optimum heat transfer. In the final production step, the copper parts are nickel-plated.
The separately manufactured Ultra-High-Performance-Coldplate is also first precision-blasted before the contact surface to the GPU is refined by highly precise CNC machining. The slot width is 0.2 mm, the fin width is also 0.2 mm, and the fin height is 2.5 mm. This results in a surface area of 13,440 mm² for the Core-Coldplate. Both Coldplates are fully CNC-milled and are not manufactured using the skiving process.
