Notes on Possible Import Fees

Information for Customers on custom duties, VAT, and possible import charges

Depending on the destination country, additional import charges may apply to an order. These may include, in particular, customs duties, import VAT or local VAT, sales tax, or comparable charges, as well as possible fees charged by the shipping service provider for customs clearance. Whether such costs apply and the amount charged depend on the destination country, the value of the goods, and the applicable import regulations there.

Germany

For delivery addresses in Germany, no import fees apply to orders placed through our German shop. Accordingly, no customs duties or additional import charges are incurred as part of an import.

Europe outside the EU

For deliveries to European countries outside the EU, import charges may apply. Depending on the country, these may include import VAT or VAT, customs duties, as well as additional clearance or handling fees charged by the transportation service provider. Customers should check the applicable national regulations before placing an order.

Outside the EU, especially the USA

For deliveries to countries outside the EU, import duties, local taxes, and customs clearance fees may apply.

Important note for deliveries to the USA: The former US de minimis rule, under which commercial shipments with a goods value of up to USD 800 could often be imported duty-free, is currently no longer applicable as a general duty-free threshold. By order of the US government, the duty-free de minimis treatment for low-value shipments from all countries was suspended effective August 29, 2025; this suspension was extended or reaffirmed again on February 20, 2026. Therefore, even for shipments with a goods value of USD 800 or less, customs duties, additional import charges, or processing fees may apply upon import into the USA.

We therefore expressly recommend that customers in the USA check the currently applicable import regulations directly with the relevant US authorities before placing an order.
