The DeltaMate Update Blog for the GPU Water Block for the ROG Astral RTX 5080

The second DeltaMate GPU water block is dedicated to the ROG Astral RTX 5080, as it shares much of its overall design and PCB form factor with the RTX-5090 block. Still, all major machined components were modified to suit the revised VRM and VRAM layout and the smaller GPU die of the RTX 5080 versus the RTX 5090.

Development and prototype manufacturing have been progressing swiftly since Computex 2025. We expect to release this GPU water block in Q3 2025. Important preliminary note: We are not accepting pre-orders. As soon as products become available, they will be released to our distributor network and offered for sale in our shop. In coordination with our sales team, we have developed a comprehensive distribution strategy to ensure end customers can purchase our products directly. While large system integrators will also be supplied, our primary focus remains on the end user.

If you still have questions, please submit them via our social media channels, and we will address them here. This helps relieve our customer support team, so please direct all DeltaMate inquiries to our social media team.

DeltaMate GPU Watercooler ROG Astral RTX 5080 Update: As of July 22, 2025

·         3D Design and Drawings (Serial, Completed)

·         Prototype Manufacturing (Serial, Completed)

·         First Series Production (All parts manufactured in parallel):

o   Terminals (Completed)

·         Packaging (Partially Completed)

·         Fasteners and Small Components (Partially Completed)

Remaining Tasks:

·         Performance Validation (Serial, 10 – 20 days)

·         First Series Production (All parts manufactured in parallel):

o   Coldplates (20 – 30 days)

o   Die Coldplates (15 – 20 days)

o   Aluminum Frames (15 – 20 days)

o   Backplates (15 – 20 days)

·         Finishing Processes (All parts manufactured in parallel):

o   Coldplate Nickel Plating (15 – 20 days)

o   Die Coldplate Nickel Plating (15 – 20 days)

o   Aluminum Frame Anodization (10 – 15 days)

o   Backplate Anodization (10 – 15 days)

o   Terminal Nickel Plating (10 – 15 days)

·         Series Assembly (Serial, 5 – 7 days)

·         Quality Control (Serial, 3 – 5 days)

·         Logistics and Distribution (Serial, 3 – 5 days)

All parallel work steps occur simultaneously and independently. Content creation (product descriptions, packaging design, etc.) runs in parallel with manufacturing. Serial processes proceed sequentially: quality control can only begin once assembly is complete. Furthermore, certain processes run in series: only after a specified quantity of every component has been produced in series manufacturing can the handover to the finishing process take place.

About the DeltaMate GPU Watercooler ROG Astral RTX 5090

Our DeltaMate GPU water block for the ROG Astral RTX 5080 is produced by Thermal Grizzly in Germany. It impresses with exemplary surface quality and exceptional attention to detail: the dual-machined copper cold plate is glass-blasted and re-machined before nickel plating. Equipped with the same 0.20 mm microfins as our Mycro CPU water blocks and supplied with Thermal Grizzly Duronaut, Minus Pad Advance, and Putty Advance, this block is engineered for maximum performance.
