Black Edition: Thinner, stronger, and ideal for precise masking

It is ideal for masking components such as SMDs on a CPU or GPU when using these materials. Compared to the standard Kapton Insulation Sheet, the Black Edition is slightly thinner (30 µm instead of 40 µm) and offers a significantly higher breakdown voltage of 5 kV. The Kapton Insulation Sheet Black Edition is supplied as 10 carrier sheets, each containing 5 Kapton adhesive strips. Each strip measures 10 mm in width and 60 mm in length, with a thickness of 30 µm. It is recommended to thoroughly clean the contact surfaces before applying the insulation sheet (e.g., using isopropyl alcohol).

Note on use with High Performance Heatspreaders and Direct-Die coolers

The TG Kapton Insulation Sheet should not be used in combination with High Performance Heatspreaders or Direct-Die coolers. Instead, a thin layer of TG Shield should be applied to protect the electronic components. The reason for this is that High Performance Heatspreaders (HPHS) and Direct-Die coolers rest directly on the CPU package. When a Kapton Insulation Sheet is used, the internal structure of the HPHS or Direct-Die cooler may rest on the Insulation Sheet, preventing contact between the CPU die and the HPHS or cooler.
