WireView

WireView Pro II

WireView Pro II Normal/Reversed and the Noctua Edition plug directly into the graphics card. Before installation, check the connector orientation, compatibility list and drawing for the corresponding version on the product page. The Noctua Edition has a larger housing. The cooler, backplate or recessed sockets can prevent full insertion. If you use a water block, you must check the modified setup. Approval for the original cooler is not sufficient for this. Models that are not listed are neither automatically approved nor ruled out. WireView Pro II Wired connects via a permanently attached 40 cm cable and is mounted separately using the included brackets. It can be used universally with graphics cards that have a 12VHPWR or 12V-2x6 connector, including the NVIDIA RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 Founders Edition. The flexible mounting options also suit water blocks and vertically installed GPUs. For all versions, connectors must latch fully and cables must be routed without strain and with a sufficient bend radius. Check the clearance to the case, fans and other components. Keep ventilation openings clear and cables away from moving parts. If in doubt, send us the model numbers and photos of the connector area.
Normal and Reversed refer to the mechanical connector orientation of the directly attached WireView Pro II models and the Noctua Edition. Compare your graphics card's latch and sense contacts with the images, compatibility list and dimensional drawing for the corresponding version. The list assumes a horizontally installed graphics card with cables routed toward the bottom of the case. For vertical installation, you must check cable routing and space separately. The display can be rotated by 180°, so its orientation does not determine the connector version required. With WireView Pro II Wired, there is no need to choose between Normal and Reversed. The plug on the permanently attached cable connects to the graphics card, while the measurement unit is mounted separately. Make sure the connectors latch fully and route the cable without tight bends or sideways pulling. Use the documentation for your Pro II version, as older WireView generations have a different physical design. If anything is unclear, the exact model name and photos of the connector area will help us.
Connect WireView Pro II to the PC through its USB-C port using a suitable data cable, for example the supplied cable for an internal USB 2.0 header. This also applies to Wired and the Noctua Edition. Use the latest official WireView Pro II software from the downloads section of the relevant product page. It allows you to read and export measurements, change settings and perform approved firmware updates according to the instructions. The measurement and monitoring functions also work without the software running continuously. Completely remove older software versions from your computer before using a new version to avoid conflicts. Do not interrupt the USB connection or power supply during an update. Check all settings afterward, as they may have been reset. If you have problems, tell us the software and firmware versions and the exact message shown.
Describe the problem as precisely as possible and include proof of purchase and photos or a short video. Specify the exact WireView version and, for connection problems, also provide the GPU, power supply and cable type. We will assess whether technical assistance, repair or replacement is appropriate. Returns, cost coverage and any advance replacement are arranged on a case-by-case basis. Direct any statutory warranty claims to your seller. WireView Pro II, Wired and the Noctua Edition are covered by the extended GPU connector warranty for two years from the purchase date, subject to the published terms. Requirements include proof of purchase, operation according to the instructions and within the GPU manufacturer's specifications, and active protection functions with the required default settings. The full eligibility, operating and documentation requirements are available in the downloads section of the product page. The warranty is not a blanket promise to cover every type of GPU damage. If connectors are partially melted, overheated or damaged, shut down the PC immediately and disconnect the power supply from the mains. Allow the parts to cool. For our diagnosis, avoid removing melted connectors from the graphics card if possible, and do not force apart connections that have melted together. Stop using damaged or discolored connections. Document the graphics card, cable and WireView with photos. Do not clean, repair or dispose of the parts before they have been assessed. We will discuss the next steps with you.
On all WireView Pro II versions, fan speed is controlled according to device temperature and power consumption. In the intended semi-passive mode, it may stop temporarily. Keep ventilation openings clear and check whether a cable is touching the fan. If you notice scraping noises, intermittent operation or unusually loud bearing noise, send us a video that includes the temperature display. The standard and Wired versions use a 30 mm fan. The Noctua Edition has a Noctua NF-A4x10 PWM fan and an adapted cooling system. On Wired, mounting the device on a case intake fan can help with cooling, so its own fan needs to start less often. WireView Pro II has a modular design. After consulting customer service, you can replace the fan yourself. Make sure the spare part and procedure match your version. A video tutorial is available on the Thermal Grizzly YouTube channel.
Warnings are shown on the display and accompanied by an audible signal. Current Imbalance means that the load is distributed unevenly across the six 12 V wires. WireView Pro II monitors the currents but does not actively balance them. Small differences are possible. Significant or increasing differences should be investigated. Below 6 A, a greater imbalance is normally not associated with increased risk. Above 6 A, Thermal Grizzly considers a difference of at least 40% between pins to be an elevated imbalance. This threshold was established through in-house testing and does not correspond to an official standard. The exact alarm trigger depends on the firmware version and device settings. Do not simply raise warning thresholds to hide a message. Switch off the PC and disconnect the power supply from the mains. Check all connections: at the power supply, at the input of WireView Pro II and at the graphics card. For Normal/Reversed and the Noctua Edition, the device sits directly on the GPU. For Wired, the plug on the permanently attached cable connects there. Unplug undamaged connections and fully insert them again. Then compare the readings under a similar load. Reconnecting can often improve the situation. If it persists, first test a different cable between the power supply and WireView that is approved for your power supply. The permanently attached Wired cable stays on the device. If there is no improvement, send us the readings, firmware version and details of the GPU, power supply and cable. Do not continue using damaged or unusually hot connections.
WireView Pro II is generally compatible with 12VHPWR and 12V-2x6 power cables. Only use cables approved for your power supply model and your graphics card's power requirements. For Normal/Reversed and the Noctua Edition, the connector version must also match the graphics card. For Wired, the power supply cable connects to the input of the measurement unit. The permanently attached 40 cm cable runs from there to the graphics card. Fully insert all connections until the latch engages. Avoid sideways pulling and tight bends immediately next to the connector. For multi-input adapters, all inputs required by the manufacturer must be connected to power. During operation, the lowest permissible limit of all cables, adapters, power supplies and GPU connectors involved applies. A higher warning threshold, display scale or power limit does not increase load capacity. On graphics cards with multiple power connectors, each connector must be considered separately. Operate the GPU within the manufacturer's specifications and observe the extended warranty terms. Total power alone does not prove that the individual contacts are carrying a safe load. For unusual configurations or an increased power limit, send us the GPU model, operating mode and details of the power supply and cabling for assessment.
Check the display brightness and automatic display-off setting. Then switch off the PC and disconnect the power supply from the mains. Check that all power connections are fully seated. For a complete restart, disconnect the device from the graphics card and all connected cables, including USB. For Wired, disconnect the permanently attached cable only from the graphics card. It remains attached to the measurement unit. After removal, wait briefly and reconnect the device. WireView Pro II also starts with only USB-C connected. To check the display function, you can also power the removed device using a standard USB-C charger. This also applies to Wired and the Noctua Edition. For a data connection to the PC software, however, you need a suitable USB data cable. Disconnecting the power supply restarts the device but does not restore factory settings. For a reset, follow the WireView Pro II instructions. If flickering, pixel defects or display errors persist, send us a short video along with the serial number, firmware version and system details. The device has a modular design. We will discuss with you whether replacing the display, carrying out another repair or replacing the device makes sense. A video tutorial on replacing the display is available on the Thermal Grizzly YouTube channel.
WireView Pro II is available as a directly attached device in Normal and Reversed connector orientations, and as a Wired version with a permanently attached connecting cable. The Noctua Edition offers the features of WireView Pro II with a Noctua NF-A4x10 PWM fan, an adapted fan grille, a larger aluminum housing and additional heat transfer to the housing. It also plugs directly into the graphics card. Its preset Noctua display theme can be changed. Information on available versions, further models and confirmed release dates is available in the Thermal Grizzly shop and on our official channels. For products that have not yet been announced, we cannot confirm a fixed date or specific features.
Switch off the PC and disconnect the power supply from the mains. Connect the designated port on WireView Pro II to the motherboard's power-switch pins using the supplied Y-splitter cable. Connect the case power button through the splitter as described in the instructions. This also applies to Wired and the Noctua Edition. Follow the pin assignments in the instructions for your version and in the motherboard manual. Then check the warning and shutdown settings and test the function according to the instructions. Automatic shutdown requires the cable connection to the motherboard. A USB connection alone is not sufficient. Even with the shutdown function enabled, all power connectors must be fully latched and free of strain.
Switch off the PC and disconnect the power supply from the mains. Check all connections from the power supply through WireView Pro II to the graphics card. For Normal/Reversed and the Noctua Edition, the connector version and installation clearance must be suitable. The cooler or backplate must not prevent full insertion. For Wired, check the plug of the permanently attached cable at the GPU. Poor contact at the sense pins can prevent startup. Unplug undamaged connections and fully insert them again. All latches must engage and cables must be routed without strain. For multi-input adapters, all required inputs must be supplied with power. If the problem persists, first test a different cable between the power supply and WireView that is approved for your power supply. To narrow down the cause, you can also connect the GPU directly to the power supply using a suitable cable. If it only works without WireView, send us your system details, the exact device version, serial number and photos of the connectors. Do not retest connections that are damaged, discolored or were previously unusually hot.
All versions can be used as supplied without manual calibration. The device is operated using its buttons or the WireView Pro II software. In each settings menu, “Save” saves your changes. “Reset” restores the factory settings for that menu. Refer to the Device & Display Guide in the downloads section. Make a note of your settings before performing a reset. A firmware update can also reset them. Only change calibration values after consulting our support team. The device displays the currents of the six 12 V wires in amperes, the voltage in volts and the resulting calculated power in watts. Only the graphics card connector supplied through WireView is measured. Power drawn through the PCIe slot is not included. Differences from GPU software readings are therefore not automatically a measurement error. The GPU's total power consumption or a wall-plug power meter is not suitable for calibration. IN and OUT are measured by internal sensors on the device's circuit board. For Wired, the measurement unit is separate from the GPU. These readings therefore do not equal a temperature measured directly at the remote GPU connector. TS1 and TS2 show the readings of the connected external sensors at their respective positions. MAX is the highest sensor reading currently measured. Do not insert external sensors into electrical contacts. If warnings recur, send us readings under a comparable load and details of the GPU, power supply, cable and sensor positions.
All versions include the ordered WireView device, a 60 cm USB-C cable for an internal USB 2.0 header, a Y-splitter cable for the motherboard power function, and two external temperature sensors with 5 cm and 20 cm cables. These shared package contents also apply to the Noctua Edition. Wired additionally includes the permanently attached 40 cm cable with three cable combs, a parallel and a perpendicular mounting bracket, and a bracket for 120 mm fans. The mounting hardware includes five M4 × 6 mm screws and three M3 × 6 mm screws to DIN 7984, three knurled nuts and three washers each in M4 and M3, two hex keys in 2 mm and 2.5 mm sizes, and a T4 key. If a part is missing, send us proof of purchase, the item number and a photo of the complete package contents. We will review the case and arrange the missing items with you.

WireView Pro GPU

Check the exact GPU model, including its revision, against the current compatibility list and dimensional drawing for WireView GPU Pro. The cooler, backplate or recessed sockets can prevent installation even if the connector matches. If you use a water block, you must check that the modified setup provides enough space. Approval for the original cooler is not sufficient for this. For vertical installation, all connectors must also latch fully, and cables must be routed without strain and with a sufficient bend radius. With vertical installation, the display cannot be viewed from the front, but vertical use is generally possible. Models that are not listed are neither automatically approved nor ruled out. If in doubt, send us the model numbers and photos of the connector area.
Normal and Reversed refer to the mechanical orientation of the WireView Pro GPU connector. Compare the position of your GPU's latch and sense contacts with the images and drawing of the corresponding version in the Thermal Grizzly shop. The connector geometry is what matters, not the display's reading orientation. Also check the clearances to the backplate, cooler and case panel. If compatibility is unclear, photos from above and from the side will help us check it. WireView GPU, WireView Pro GPU and WireView Pro II differ technically. Their features, software and accessories are therefore not freely interchangeable. WireView Pro II Wired belongs to the newer generation and is a separate model.
Use WireView Pro GPU only with the connector version that matches your graphics card and a cable approved for your power supply and power requirements. Fully insert all connections until the latch engages, and avoid sideways pulling and tight bends immediately next to the connector.
WireView Pro GPU displays its readings directly on the device. Like first-generation WireView GPU, it has a white data output that cannot be read directly using approved PC software. Software support for these older WireView generations is not planned. The WireView Pro II software and its USB functions are not intended for WireView Pro GPU. The data connector is not a standard USB port and must not be connected to a PC using homemade adapters.
Switch off the PC and check that WireView Pro GPU and all cables are fully latched and free of mechanical strain. Check that you have the correct version and that all adapter inputs are supplied with power. On devices with 12VHPWR or 12V-2x6 connectors, poor contact between the WireView sense pins and the graphics card socket can prevent startup. If the problem only persists with WireView Pro GPU connected, send us your system details and photos. Do not test damaged or unusually hot connections again.
WireView Pro GPU warns of excessive temperature, excessive total current or an issue with cable detection. Check the affected readings and, with the PC switched off, make sure the connectors are fully seated. In the menu, TWARN is the temperature threshold, CWARN is the current threshold and HWARN is the expected cable specification. HWARN must match the cable and power supply being used. Do not simply raise warning thresholds to hide a message. If there is overheating, discoloration or unstable operation, do not continue putting the system under load. WireView Pro GPU does not measure individual pin currents like WireView Pro II.
Shut down the PC immediately, disconnect the power supply from the mains and stop using any damaged or discolored connectors. Allow hot parts to cool and do not force apart connections that have melted together. Document the GPU, cable and WireView Pro GPU with photos, and note the power supply model, cable type and purchase details. Contact us and, if necessary, the GPU or power supply manufacturer before any parts are cleaned, repaired or disposed of. For our diagnosis, it is very helpful if melted connectors are not removed from the graphics card.
With the PC switched off, check that all power connections are in place and that WireView Pro GPU is seated securely. Check the display timeout setting. Switch off the PC and disconnect the power supply from the mains. Completely disconnect the device from the graphics card and all cables. Wait briefly, then reconnect it. Reset settings or readings only according to the instructions for this device generation. If flickering, pixel defects or display errors persist, send us a short video, the serial number and your system details. Do not open the device or install firmware from another WireView version.
WireView Pro GPU is operated using the button on the side. A short press changes the displayed view, while a long press opens the menu. ROT allows the display to be rotated by 180°. STATS and ENERG are used to reset the statistics and energy consumption values, respectively. For the individual steps, use the instructions that match your revision. Only change calibration values after consulting us. The measured power represents consumption through the monitored graphics card power connector. It does not include power drawn through the PCIe slot.
The permissible power for WireView Pro GPU depends on its connector version and the ratings of all cables, adapters, power supplies and GPU connectors involved. The lowest limit always applies. Increasing the power limit does not increase a connector's load capacity or the device's approved rating. Operate the GPU within the manufacturer's specifications. Operation outside the standard range can cause excessive thermal stress and damage the WireView. An unremarkable total power reading alone does not prove that every individual contact is carrying a safe load. The 12VHPWR and 12V-2x6 versions of WireView Pro GPU are generally validated and approved for up to 600 W.
WireView Pro GPU measures the power supplied through the GPU power connector. It does not include power drawn through the PCIe slot. The temperature readings correspond to the internal sensors and any connected external sensors. Individual pin current measurement, as provided by Pro II, is not part of this device generation. Differences from GPU software readings are therefore not automatically a measurement error.
A newer generation is already available in the form of WireView Pro II. It offers features including individual pin current measurement, USB connectivity and optional automatic system shutdown. These features cannot be added to WireView Pro GPU using the Pro II software. We announce further models and confirmed release dates through our shop and official channels.
The package contents of WireView Pro GPU depend on the specific generation and item number. Compare the device and accessories with the parts list on the product page or in the instructions. Cables, temperature sensors and shutdown accessories are not identical across all generations. If an explicitly listed part is missing, send us proof of purchase and a photo of the package contents.

If compatibility is unclear, photos from above and from the side will help us check it. WireView GPU, WireView Pro GPU and WireView Pro II are technically different generations. Their features, software and accessories are not freely interchangeable. The Wired version has a measurement unit that can be mounted separately and is linked by a connecting cable. We have provided additional images in the Thermal Grizzly shop to illustrate the orientation of Normal and Reversed. Check the orientation of the socket on the graphics card.
WireView GPU is operated using the buttons and menu for the corresponding device generation. Use the matching instructions for resetting or saving settings, as button sequences may differ between revisions. Only change calibration values after consulting us. The power measured at the graphics card power connector does not necessarily equal the GPU's total power consumption. It only represents the power drawn through the measured connectors. On supported revisions of WireView GPU, you can rotate the display by 180° using the corresponding rotation option in the display menu and save the setting. The exact button sequence depends on the firmware and revision. Therefore, use the corresponding instructions. If the option is missing, send us a photo of the device and its version screen.
Shut down the PC immediately, disconnect the power supply from the mains and stop using any damaged or discolored connectors. WireView GPU displays readings directly on the device. The WireView Pro II software and its USB functions are not intended for this older generation. Any service or data connector present is not an approved standard USB port and must not be connected using homemade adapters. First-generation WireView and WireView Pro GPU have a white data output, but it cannot be read directly. Software support for the older WireView generations is not planned.
The permissible power for WireView GPU depends on its connector version and the ratings of all cables, adapters, power supplies and GPU connectors involved. The lowest limit always applies. Increasing the power limit does not increase a connector's load capacity or the device's approved rating. Operate the GPU within the manufacturer's specifications. Operation outside the standard range can cause excessive thermal stress and damage the WireView.
The original-generation WireView GPU does not have an automatic shutdown function like WireView Pro II. Therefore, do not connect a motherboard power-button cable to any data or service pins. If you need monitored shutdown, check the functions explicitly provided for this purpose on newer models.
The package contents of WireView GPU depend on the specific generation and item number. Compare the device and accessories with the parts list on the product page or in the instructions. Cables, temperature sensors and shutdown accessories are not identical across all generations. If an explicitly listed part is missing, send us proof of purchase and a photo of the package contents.
