Product information "WireView Pro II Wired"
The WireView Pro II was developed specifically for demanding use with modern high-end graphics cards featuring a 12V-2x6 connector and represents the advanced version of the WireView Pro. As a patented Thermal Grizzly development, it is protected by European patent EP4250057. The "Wired" variant of the WireView Pro II is not plugged directly into the graphics card; instead, thanks to a 40 cm power cable with a 12V-2x6 connector, it can be positioned freely inside the case. Several included mounting brackets provide a wide range of installation options.
The WireView Pro II measures current not only as a total value, but also per individual conductor of the 12V-2x6 connector. This allows potential contact issues between the cable and the graphics card to be identified immediately. The WireView Pro II was specifically developed to enable precise monitoring of the 12V-2x6 connector, so that load-distribution issues can be detected early and potential damage to the graphics card and the 12V-2x6 connector can be avoided.
Monitoring
All safety-relevant parameters, such as currents (A), voltages (V), temperatures (°C), and power consumption (W), are measured continuously. Thermal Grizzly defines thresholds for these values that should not be exceeded during normal operation, as doing so would increase the risk of thermal damage to the connector. If a threshold is exceeded, a visual warning appears on the display and an audible alarm is triggered. As an option, the system can be shut down automatically via the included splitter cable. The preset thresholds can be changed in the configuration menu.
More information about the optional software can be found here.
Cooling
Due to unavoidable contact resistance at plug connections, high-performance GPUs generate additional waste heat during operation. For controlled heat dissipation, a semi-passive fan has been integrated; it operates silently at idle and is activated automatically as power consumption or temperature increases. The CNC-machined aluminum housing features ventilation openings and acts as an active heat sink. Optimized airflow through openings in the rear PCB supports air movement along all thermally relevant components.
The cooling performance of the WireView Pro II Wired can benefit from mounting the device on one of the intake case fans. The additional airflow supports the dissipation of waste heat, meaning the WireView Pro II Wired usually operates in passive mode.
Ease of use
The WireView Pro II Wired features a permanently attached, 40 cm power cable that is plugged into the graphics card's 12V-2x6 connector. This makes the WireView Pro II Wired compatible with all available graphics cards equipped with a 12V-2x6 connector, including NVIDIA Founders Edition cards. With the included mounting brackets, the WireView Pro II Wired can be installed in numerous positions inside the case or on the graphics card itself, while three cable combs on the power cable make cable management easier and improve the overall appearance.
Several views are available on the integrated TFT-IPS display and can be configured directly on the device. The device can be used entirely as a hardware solution and is additionally complemented by software (WireView2-SW-1.0.3). This software is available in the product's download area.
Automatic Data Logging
An integrated memory regularly logs relevant operating data to make potential fault events traceable. The data recorded includes the 12 V currents measured per pin, the total power consumption, and the temperature at the 12V-2x6 output (T-Out) near the connector. A data record is stored every 60 seconds. The memory provides capacity for around 340 days at full load or approximately 3-4 years of typical operation before older entries are automatically overwritten. The collected data supports both fault analysis and the continued development of safer connector designs within the community.
Extended Warranty and Clarity for the End User >
To ensure a high level of operational safety, the WireView Pro II is equipped with an extended warranty that goes beyond the statutory warranty and the standard manufacturer's warranty. If damage to the graphics card's 12VHPWR or 12V-2x6 connector occurs despite the integrated protective mechanisms, repairs will be carried out by Thermal Grizzly, or an equivalent replacement will be provided if repair is not possible. This protection also applies after the original graphics card warranty has expired. To make a claim, the device must have been used as intended in accordance with the user manual and within the operating parameters specified by the GPU manufacturer. The extended warranty period is 2 years from the date of purchase.
With this guaranteed protection package, we provide maximum transparency and safety: customers invest in state-of-the-art monitoring technology and can rely on Thermal Grizzly to provide fast, straightforward support in the event of damage, enabling sustained maximum performance without unnecessary risks.
