Product information "DeltaMate GPU Block - ROG Astral RTX 5080"

The DeltaMate GPU Block - ROG Astral RTX 5080 GPU water block features a massive copper cooler consisting of two Coldplates screwed together. 

For the Core-Coldplate, which has direct contact with the graphics chip, a separately milled Ultra-High-Performance-Coldplate is used with 0.2 mm slot width, 0.2 mm fin width, and 2.5 mm fin height. TG Duronaut, TG Minus Pad Advance, and TG Putty Advance are included in the scope of delivery.

Massive copper cooler with dual cold plate design

The cooling performance of the DeltaMate GPU Block - ROG Astral RTX 5080 is based primarily on the optimized flow design of the coolant across the copper cooler. The cooler consists of two components screwed together: the smaller Core-Coldplate for the graphics chip and the VRM/VRAM-Coldplate for video memory and voltage converters. Together with the aluminum housing and the viewing window, they form the complete water block. 

The VRM/VRAM-Coldplate, weighing over 900 grams, is milled from high-quality copper and then precision-blasted to achieve a uniform surface structure. The contact surfaces for VRAM and VRM are finely reworked after blasting in an additional CNC machining step to ensure optimum heat transfer. In the final production step, the copper parts are nickel-plated. 

The separately manufactured Ultra-High-Performance-Coldplate is also first precision-blasted before the contact surface to the GPU is refined by highly precise CNC machining. The slot width is 0.2 mm, the fin width is also 0.2 mm, and the fin height is 2.5 mm. This results in a surface area of 13,440 mm² for the Core-Coldplate. Both Coldplates are fully CNC-milled and are not manufactured using the skiving process.

DeltaMate GPU Block with RGB and Schott BOROFLOAT® glass

The DeltaMate GPU water block for the ROG Astral RTX 5080 is supplied with the pre-mounted DeltaMate GPU Block - Direct Terminal made of brass. The terminal has one inlet and one outlet with G1/4-inch threads, both of which point forward toward the front of the case when installed in a standard ATX case. Optionally, the DeltaMate GPU Block - Through Terminal is also available separately as a terminal with additional inlets and outlets on the top and bottom.

Inside the black anodized aluminum housing of the water block is a strip with 14 addressable RGB LEDs that illuminate the viewing window made of Schott BOROFLOAT® glass. These LEDs can be controlled via a 3-pin ARGB header (+5V/DATA/GND) on the motherboard.

„The Oracle“

The DeltaMate ROG Astral RTX 5080 Black GPU water block features an integrated spacer PCB called “The Oracle” PCB, which is precisely adapted to the shape of the PCB of the ROG Astral RTX 5080 graphics card. 

This allows correct alignment and fit to be checked before any disassembly, which considerably simplifies the setup process of the custom loop. The “The Oracle” PCB also serves as a template for the installation process and contains information such as the positions of screws and thermal pads. After installation of the water block, it can also be used for reassembling the original air cooler for storage purposes.

Important Notes

The DeltaMate GPU Block - ROG Astral RTX 5080 requires assembly and is recommended for use and installation by experienced users.

General Notes on Water-Cooling Products

  • Do NOT use in combination with water-cooling components made of aluminum where the coolant comes into contact with aluminum, such as radiators with aluminum tubing.
  • Suitable coolants are recommended that contain biocides and corrosion inhibitors and are free of particles that could restrict water flow or clog the loop.
  • The custom water-cooling system should be tested for leaks with an air pressure tester for at least 1 hour before filling.
  • After filling, the system should be regularly inspected during the first 24 hours for any potential coolant leaks.

DeltaMate Fittings & Optional Through Terminal

Thermal Grizzly offers a wide range of fittings for integrating a DeltaMate GPU Block into the cooling loop. These high-quality, precision-machined brass fittings are available in various color options and in all common sizes for soft and hard tubes. The fittings are coordinated with one another and can be combined in many different ways.

The DeltaMate GPU Block Through Terminal is an optional 4-port pass-through terminal with inlet and outlet ports on the top and bottom for DeltaMate GPU water blocks. The Through Terminal provides additional options for routing the tubes when building a custom water-cooling system.
