Product information "AMD Mycro Direct-Die Pro"
The AMD Mycro Direct-Die Pro RGB V1 features a hybrid structure with two different sizes of microfins and a jet plate for optimized flow. The cooler's cold plate is made of nickel-plated copper and is mounted directly on the CPU chip. For this, the Socket Actuation Mechanism (SAM) of the motherboard is removed, and the processor must be delidded. The nickel plating of the cooler plate creates a barrier layer, preventing gallium-based liquid metal from diffusing into the copper, making multiple applications of liquid metal usually unnecessary.
Properties
- Water cooler for direct-die mounting
- Microfin cooler made of nickel-plated copper
- Replaces SAM and heatspreader
- Acrylic and aluminum cover
- G1/4-inch connections
- CPU compatibility list available online
- For delidded CPUs only! Caution: voids warranty!
Acrylic glass tempering and RGB lighting
Between the cold plate and the anodized aluminum cover is acrylic glass, which undergoes a annealing process after milling to relieve internal stresses. This reduces the risk of stress cracks during long-term use.
RGB LEDs are located under the aluminum lid, controllable via a 3-pin ARGB header (+5V/DATA/GND) on the motherboard. These LEDs illuminate the acrylic under the lid and the G1/4-inch fittings on the lid.

Attention
Removing the heatspreader (“delidding”) of a processor is at your own risk!
The manufacturer's warranty expires when the CPU is delidded! Damage caused by delidding the CPU is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty!
Removing the Integrated Loading Mechanism (ILM) of the mainboard may invalidate the manufacturer's warranty of the mainboard manufacturer!
Compatibility Note:
The AM5 Mycro Direct-Die Pro RGB V1 is:
- Generally compatible with Ryzen 9000 series CPUs, including X3D variants
- NOT compatible with the Ryzen 5 7400F
- NOT compatible with Ryzen 8000G series APUs
(As of September 2025)
General Notes on Water-Cooling Products
- Do NOT use in combination with aluminum-based water-cooling components in which the coolant comes into contact with aluminum, such as radiators with aluminum tubes.
- We recommend suitable coolants that contain biocides and corrosion inhibitors and are free of particles that could restrict water flow or clog the loop.
- The custom water-cooling system should be leak-tested with an air pressure tester (maximum 0.5 bar) for at least 1 hour before filling.
- After filling, the system should be checked regularly during the first 24 hours for possible coolant leaks.
- According to Thermal Grizzly's specification, the operating pressure in the custom water-cooling loop must not exceed 0.6 bar. When using components from other manufacturers in the loop, ensure that their maximum operating pressure ratings are compatible with the system.
